Psychological effects of rejuvenating the faceIt is well understood that looks play an important role in our society. The relationship between one’s appearance and emotional response to it is a complex one. It is understood that enhancing and refreshing ones appearance is a positive and energising experience for most. A recent study investigating the psychological effects of rejuvenating the face, based on anecdotal observations demonstrated a sustained improvement in well being. Participants were questioned immediately after procedures and then 3 months later. The initial responses were upbeat, with participants appreciating their more youthful appearance. These included unprompted compliments from friends, an increased desire to take efforts with other elements of their appearance and a higher level of self confidence overall |
