Semi-Permanent Make-Up

Make It Permanent!

Since the days of Cleopatra, women have tried to make their make-up permanent. However, the semi-permanent make-up, or cosmetic micro pigmentation, of today is a relatively recent phenomenon. The rising popularity of semi-permanent make-up is not surprising in view of the results that can be achieved. Current techniques allow you to have eyebrow, eyeline and lip colour that looks completely natural and lasts for years! It’s time to throw away all those eye, lip and cheek pencils and go permanent!

The reasons to choose semi-permanent make-up are many and varied. It may quite simply be that you want to look good 24 hours a day but do not have the time (or ability) to apply perfect make-up on a daily basis. It may be that you can’t apply perfect make-up, if you have poor vision, or an unsteady hand, or suffer from excessively oily skin or watery eyes which cause make-up to smear. You might even be allergic to conventional cosmetics and fed up with hunting down make-up that you don’t react to. If you are someone with sparse, or even no, eyebrows or eyelashes, make-up is a must, so why not take advantage of a treatment that can do away with a daily ritual?

Micro pigmentation can also be used as a corrective and enhancing treatment. It may be that your lips are naturally thin, pale or poorly defined. Perhaps you have lop-sided facial features which you would love to be corrected. The treatment can also be used to correct scarred or discoloured skin by means of reconstructive or medical micro pigmentation, treating birth defects or disfigurement from accident, illness or surgery.

Micro pigmentation is a form of cosmetic tattooing and involves hypoallergenic pigments being inserted into the dermal layer of the skin in order to create a shadow, or colour, that mimics the most perfectly applied make-up. Because the pigment sits in the skin, the effect remains 24 hours a day, gradually breaking down and fading over a number of years. Micro pigmentation treatments can range from the very subtle to the dramatic. As a general rule, the more dramatic, the longer it will last.

The specialist techniques involved with semi-permanent make-up are referred to as micro pigmentation, dermagraphics, or permanent cosmetics. They are all a form of cosmetic tattooing.

Eyebrows
Eyebrows are the frames of the face. When sets of brows are designed correctly they can lift the eyes and give a more youthful appearance to the face. Brows can be redesigned, using the natural hair stroke technique, to enhance your face and eliminate the need for eyebrow pencil. Clients with sparse eyebrows can have them corrected, and they can be totally reconstructed for those will total hair loss such as Alopecia. Advanced techniques for eyebrow reconstruction include the art and skill of replicating real hair.

Lips
Lips can be defined to emphasise or correct an irregular lip shape, or to add colour to lips that have lost definition. Lips can be redefined with contour and lip blush for a more balanced appearance. Advanced techniques for lips include colour blending and full lip tint.

Eyeliner
Eyeliner or Eyelash Enhancement is used to add depth and definition to the eyes. Lash enhancement with intense eyeliner will accentuate the natural beauty of your eyes. Colour and thickness is individual. Advanced techniques for eyes include shaded eyeliner.
